Native to the Amazon and other tropical regions, it has been used for many years by indigenous healers for its cleansing and tonifying action on the liver, kidney and gallbladder, as a painkiller and to treat a wide array of ailments including digestive disturbances, malaria, diabetes, parasites, colds and flus.
