The raw cacao beans are broken into nibs, small pieces, to make them easer to use, either to eat as they are or add to recipes. They can be mixed with currants, goji berries, chopped dates, nuts and seeds, etc to make a trail mix. Or ground up and used in cakes or puddings.
Cacao is the Mayan 'Food of the Gods'. It is rich in minerals, antioxidants and natural feel-good brain chemicals.
