Suma (Pfaffia paniculata) is the root of an Amazonian vine. It is supplied ground as powder for easy addition to food, smoothies or chocolate. Suma is also known as Brazilian ginseng.
In Brazil they call suma "Para todo" meaning "For all things" meaning that suma is an adaptogen which helps to restore balance to the body. It is a powerful herb and is only needed in small amounts, a 1/4 of a teaspoon a day is all that is needed.
