Red quinoa is a seed which is commonly used in place of a grain or cereal. Quinoa doesn't contain gluten. Red quinoa has a similar nutritional profile to white quinoa, although it takes slightly longer to cook. The red colour makes it an attractive food on your dinner plate and can contrast well with the colour of other foods.
|Per 100g white quinoa (similar to red):|
| of which sugars||0g|
| of which saturates||1g|
Quinoa is one of the easiest seeds to sprout, often sprouting in a couple of days. Rinse well and then soak for 5 or 6 hours. Drain and rinse 2 or 3 times a day until they are sprouted. Once sprouted to your desired length, store in the fridge to stop them sprouting any more.
You can make sprouted quinoa milk by blending sprouted quinoa with water. Strain through a nut milk bag if desired.
We also have white quinoa in 1kg bags and 5kg bags.
