A very dark honey with a deep and rich flavour from the forests around the village of Panchevo in southeastern Bulgaria.
Plamen is the beekeeper, coming from generations of family beekeepers following tradition natural and organic methods. He doesn't feed the bees sugar in the winter like most commercial bee keepers do.
The honey comes from the Bulgarian Strandzha oak, Quercus hartwissiana, native to this region. Oak honey comes from the acorns of the oak tree. The bees collect a sweet nectar that the acorns weep in July and August.
This honey is 100% raw and cold processed. It is not ultra-filtered, which means that it contains small amounts of pollen and other goodness.
