We're expecting more of this honey to arrive on Tuesday...
Raw, Wild, Organic and Fair Trade Tropical Forest Honey from Ethiopia, Africa.
Honey from wild bees in the rainforest covered hills of South West Ethiopia, mostly from the tree Schefflera abyssinica, a large forest tree producing a delicately-flavoured floral honey. The local bee keepers make hives from logs, baskets, grass and other freely available local materials.
One customer, Tim from Leeds, said "The raw Ethiopian Honey, well I have never tasted anything quite like it, probably the best honey I've ever had, it's amazing, velvety in consistency and the taste is just incredible!"
Mead (known as tej in Ethiopia) is the national drink, so they know a lot about honey and bee keeping!
As with the Zambian honey we have been stocking for many years, this is a very special honey, I'm sure you will love it! This honey is set.
This honey is raw and cold pressed from the frame. This means more of the natural pollen stays in the honey which gives some of the unique flavour of this honey compared to the conventional way of centrifugally extracting honey.
A fair trade product from village bee keepers. No GMOs for hundreds of miles.
Please note that this honey varies from batch to batch. It comes from various different bee keepers in different parts of the forest and some jars can be quite different, although it is always delicious!
Also available: This same Ethiopian forest honey in 3.18kg tubs, plus also Zambian forest honey in 380g jars and 3.18kg tubs.
